We take pride in our placement program and the success of those who take part in them

Our students often achieve high grades and have previously received awards such as the IMechE Student of the Year as a result of the experience they gain with us. Our students and graduates make up a large proportion of our engineering and sales teams.

We work closely with our apprentices to ensure they get the best all-round experience within our business. Whether they join our office or factory based teams, our apprentices are closely monitored with their college to ensure that their progress is tracked and the experience is as beneficial as possible to them. In their first year, our apprentices have experience in each department to gain a basic knowledge which is then increased in year 2.

We have been recruiting students into our businesses for over 10 years. Our student program aims to give an all-round experience of the many different departments that make up a manufacturing business. Generally, our students are based in the development lab and given their own projects to work on which often continues after they leave as it forms part of their final year project.

Our graduates are recruited into full time positions and put on a 3-month induction program where they are given the opportunity to work in every department. Each week, our graduates are encouraged to write a report on the improvements they think would benefit their department. We look for graduates with a positive attitude, drive to succeed and willingness to learn and in return offer a complex program with plenty of variety.

What our graduates have said…

“I’d absolutely recommend a placement year to any students currently considering one, as it’s a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience and gives you a good knowledge of working life. Getting to build those connections while still studying also serves as a foot in the door once you’ve graduated.”

James Grimaldi

Continuous Improvement Engineer

“The student programme gave me fantastic exposure to the workings of a manufacturing company. I spent most of the year working in QA, and some time in R&D. Since graduating, I was offered a position as an Engineer and have since been promoted to Engineering Manager.”
